South Korea’s heavy construction equipment maker Doosan Infracore Co. announced its new slogan ‘Powered by Innovation’ on Tuesday, which is aimed at creating new values through digital innovation and smart technology.
“We should be constantly reminded that only innovative solutions and products lead to future growth,” said Sohn Dong-youn, chief executive and president of Doosan Infracore. “Under the goal of revolutionizing corporate culture, we should first make small steps to improve competitiveness and lead the industry based on digital technology.”
The heavy equipment manufacturer under Doosan Group has been working hard to bring innovation to both working environment and product manufacturing. It signed a strategic partnership with American big data unicorn Palantir Technologies in April to maximize efficiency by linking every business data in research and development, production, marketing and service. It plans to set up a big data platform by applying Palantir’s world-class data analyzing system.
Under a project dubbed Concept-X, the company also has been making utmost efforts in manufacturing automation and remote controlling technology based on 5G network. Last November, it unveiled the world’s first technology that enables an operator in Shanghai to control an excavator located some 880 kilometers away in South Korea’s port city Incheon, at a trade fair in Shanghai. In April this year, it successfully demonstrated remote control of an excavator in Incheon from Munich, Germany, some 8,600-kilometer distance.
