Korea’s Kia Motors Corp. teased a rendered concept on a new compact sports utility vehicle that will roll out later this year as a follow up to compact multi-purpose vehicle Carens.

“We have created a car which stands out everywhere, from the city to the countryside,” Kia`s head of styling Juh Byung-chul had said earlier this month as he explained the design concept of the new compact crossover.

“Its robust yet sporty design will be matched by a wide range of features and technologies that are universally suited to younger buyers in markets around the world," Juh said.

The name of the new SUV is yet to be decided, according to the company, but it is expected to be coined as “Seltos,” as the automaker reportedly registered for a trademark in March.

The company plans to introduce its new SUV to the world in the second half of this year.
