South Korea¡¯s Hyundai Motor on Wednesday that its luxury division Genesis unveiled the Mint concept overnight in New York, ahead of this week¡¯s motor show there, previewing a potential future compact electric car for the marque¡¯s luxury lineup.

The media preview held under the title of ¡®Small Car, Big Apple¡¯, co-curated by VOGUE and GQ publisher Condé Nast International, was attended by some 350 journalists and influencers.

The lavishly outfitted battery-electric two-seat city car is bespoke to fit in crowded urban environments like those in New York. The product of a collaboration between Korean, European and U.S. designers is built on an electric platform that the carmaker claims gives a range of 321km on single a charge with a 350kW battery.

The Mint concept reflects an upgraded design touch of the Genesis. The car¡¯s front and real Quad lamps highlight its presence and the unique crest grille comes with a little openness to cool the EV battery.

The interior planned with meticulous care inspired by Korea¡¯s traditional design to embrace a void and European furniture offers ample space. Lightweight fabrics and cognac leather emphasizes coziness and the doorpost-less window maximizes a sense of openness.

The Genesis will present the Mint concept car and five combustion engine models, including the G70, the G80 Sport and the G90 during the 2019 New York Motor Show.
