Samsung Electronics Co.¡¯¡¯s much-awaited foldable phone and 10-year anniversary Galaxy S series will jointly unpack several hours later in San Francisco.

Samsung Electronics will reveal both its Galaxy S10 smartphone series, the 10th anniversary model of the long-running Galaxy range, and the foldable phone on Wednesday at 11 a.m. (local time) at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, where about 3,000 global partner officials and reporters are expected to attend.

This is the first time that the Korean smartphone giant has an unpack event in San Francisco, where Apple unpacked iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 series, which suggests Samsung¡¯s confidence in its strategic mobile devices. The company had showcased its previous Galaxy smartphone series in Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.

In line with the unpack event, Samsung Electronics will hold local events in London and India, while opening strategic Galaxy stores in Los Angeles in California, Long Island near New York, and Houston in Texas. In Korea, the Samsung Galaxy S10 series will be on display at Samsung Digital Plaza stores from Thursday.

The Galaxy S10 series comes in four models -- two pre-disclosed models plus an entry-level model and a 5G model. Some of the biggest feats are Qualcomm`s ultrasonic-enabled fingerprint sensor on the screen and a display that covers the entire front body except for a small hole for the upper camera.

The display size is expected to be the smallest 5.8-inch for the entry model S10e, with 6.1 inches for the S10 and 6.3 inches for the S10 Plus. The Galaxy S10 5G model is expected to be released on Mar. 29, while the other models will be launched on Mar 8.

The 5G model will be equipped with a 6.7-inch display and a total of six cameras: a quad (4) real camera and a front-facing dual camera. The battery capacity is expected to reach 5,000 mAh and the default storage option 256 GB.

Any new information on the company¡¯s much-hyped foldable phone is not known. Samsung Electronics mistakenly leaked a promotional video that teases the company¡¯s foldable phone. Although the company immediately withdrew the video from YouTube, the leaked image of the secretive foldable phone has accomplished the company¡¯s possibly intended purpose of heightening excitement over the phone, which looked much slimmer than the foldable phones already unveiled by other smartphone makers.
