South Korea’s leading liquor maker Hite Jinro Co. is releasing special limited canned beer series in logos of U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB).
The new Hite Extra Cold lineup consists of six canned beer products with logos of six MLB teams popular with Korean fans - Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
The release comes amid rising popularity of the American baseball league among Koreans thanks to Korean players - pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers, batter Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers and another pitcher Oh Seung-Hwan of the Colorado Rockies.
The special series will become available from the middle of the month at big-box stores in major Korean cities.
Hite Jinro, as a seven-year old official sponsor of Los Angeles Dodgers since 2012, has kept up its sports marketing efforts to improve its brand awareness in the U.S. As part of the partnership, it now targets Koreans fans and is planning more marketing activities for American fans.
