Coway Co., South Korea¡¯s leading water and air purifier manufacturer and rental firm, will add steam closet or clothing care system to its rental portfolio within the first half of this year.

It released Fresh Wear Styling System (FWSS) - its answer to LG Styler, the first home dry-cleaning system that created a sensation in Korea - at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 that closes in Las Vegas on Friday.

The Fresh Wear Styling System reduces odor and smoothes out wrinkles in clothes as well as refreshing the air of the surrounding area. The product would be available for sale and rental in Korea in the first half of this year, the company said.

This is Coway¡¯s first rental product since 2011 when it launched the bed mattress rental service for the first time in Korea. The company plans to provide regular maintenance services for its FWSS customers to ensure quality product performance.

¡°FWSS will become one of our mainstay rentals along with water and air purifiers,¡± said Lee Hae-sun, chief executive of Coway.

The CES is the world¡¯s largest annual electronics trade show where companies showcase their latest tech gadgets. Coway said its FWSS won the 2018 CES Innovation Award, which honors outstanding design and engineering in consumer tech products.

Also on display at the trade show were Coway¡¯s artificial intelligence-powered Active Action air purifier and Coway Tower, an air purifier that runs on Apple¡¯s home automation platform HomeKit.
