The Galaxy A35, Samsung Electronics Co.’s mid-range smartphone priced around 500,000 won ($376.1), is expected to be released in South Korea soon.

According to the National Radio Research Agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT on Thursday, Samsung Electronics obtained radio certification for SM-A356N, presumed to be the Galaxy A35, on Wednesday.

The estimated price is expected to be about 500,000 won, slightly higher than the predecessor, the Galaxy A34, which had a launch price of 494,000 won.

According to reports from foreign media including SamMobile, the Galaxy A34 featured the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, a chipset from Taiwan’s MediaTek Inc., in its application processor.

The Galaxy A35 is expected to come with Samsung Electronics-designed Exynos 1380 processor, which was used in the Galaxy A54 model released in 2023.

The Galaxy A35 is equipped with a punch-hole display along with a 5,000mAh battery, and is also expected to have at least 6GB of RAM and a 50-megapixel rear camera.

Industry sources noted that like the Galaxy A34 released in March 2023, the Galaxy A35 will also be released in March or April 2024.

Following the Galaxy A25 released at the beginning of the year and the Galaxy A15, which obtained radio certification on January 11th, 2024, the Galaxy A35 will be Samsung Electronics’ third mid-range smartphone to be released in the year to date.

Samsung Electronics had only released two mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A24 and Galaxy A34 In the first half of 2023. But Samsung Electronics announced plans to release four mid-range smartphones in the first half of 2024 alone as part of easing communication expenses.

As of Thursday, Samsung Electronics has released one mid-range smartphone, obtained radio certification for two models, and the remaining one is expected to be the Galaxy A55.
