Samsung Electronics Co.¡¯s Device Experience (DX) division, which is responsible for TV, home appliances, and mobile business, is actively recruiting experienced workers.

The large-scale recruitment is taking place for more than 90 positions, drawing attention to Samsung Electronics¡¯ active approach in hiring talents in the artificial intelligence (AI) field.

The South Korean tech giant said on Wednesday that its DX division plans to hire experienced employees in over 90 positions until February 26th, 2024. The simultaneous recruitment of experienced professionals across multiple job categories is unusual, as various business units have traditionally hired experienced staff as the need arose.

Several business units recruiting experienced personnel are focusing on hiring AI talents. Samsung Research is particularly seeking experienced personnel in areas such as language AI, speech AI, and vision AI that involve research and development in large language models (LLM), multimodal generative AI models, and on-device AI technology development.

The video display (VD) business unit is recruiting individuals with over two years of experience in AI, machine learning, and data analysis, as well as those with experience in central processing unit systems and system-on-chip development.

The company is also looking for candidates with experience in Samsung Smart TV advertising marketing, global advertising revenue analysis, and the digital advertising industry, while the global customer service center is looking to recruit individuals with over four years of experience in generative AI development and verification tasks.

Samsung Electronics is also focused on recruiting talents to strengthen capabilities in new business areas. The mobile experience business unit is looking for a DRAM engineer to discuss the direction for improving low-power application processors, which are the semiconductors that play a crucial role in smartphones.

Samsung Electronics¡¯ extensive recruitment efforts in the DX division across various job functions are seen as a response to the challenges to its performance in 2023, and the company aims to actively hire talents as it overcomes its business difficulties.

Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee said in a meeting with executives in January 2024 that ¡°technical talents are an indispensable to our core competitiveness,¡± vowing to create an environment where they can be challenged and innovate.
