Anti-ageing skincare products are becoming highly popular among not only middle-aged women in South Korea but those in their 30s as they wish to delay the ageing process from early years.

According to multiple sources from the cosmetics industry on Tuesday, Gowoonsesang Comsetics Co. analyzed 79,000 cases of customers that used its artificial intelligence (AI)-based skin analysis service Dr. G in 2022 and found 53 percent of users aged over 30 is concerned most about skin elasticity. Also, 44 percent of the users said wrinkles were their main concern.

The results showed that more than half of the users were interested in slowing and preventing ageing from a younger age.

Cosmetics manufacturers and retailers, meanwhile, are expected to target younger customer base for anti-ageing skin care product sale.

“We have picked ‘slow ageing’ as a trend this year and will seek new brands to boost the overall slow ageing and functional skincare market,” said an unnamed official from CJ Olive Young, a health and beauty retailer under CJ Group.
