Samsung Electronics has released a new microSD card designed to meet the rigorous demands of surveillance, dashboard, and body cameras with outstanding Full HD/4K performance and improved endurance that can deliver up to 16 years of continuous recording time.
The new memory card dubbed ‘Samsung PRO Endurance’ is built with the company’s highly reliable enterprise-grade NAND flash memory, and its life can last as long as up to 33 typical speed-focused cards, saving frequent replacement costs and providing greater reliability for always-on video monitoring, according to the company’s press release on Wednesday.
The PRO Endurance has been engineered to offer trusted performance in everyday use against harsh environments with protection against water, magnets, X-rays and extreme temperatures.
The new memory card also offers read and write speeds of up to 100 and 40 megabytes per second, respectively. It will be introduced to the global market sequentially with four capacity options of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
“Both consumers and enterprise users can rest assured that our new memory card will ensure continuous recording at high resolution even under extreme conditions,” said KyuYoung Lee, vice president of the Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics.
