Daewoong Pharmaceutical said Friday its botulinum toxin product Nabota has been authorized for marketing in Turkey and Chile.

Botulinum toxin or botox is a biologic substance widely used in cosmetic medicine to improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

The Korean pharmaceutical company aims to launch Nabota in Turkey and Chile in the third quarter of this year.

Local distribution will be made by Sektek in Turkey and by Torregal in Chile. Sektek is a leading medical filler provider in Turkey and Torregal is a Chilean beauty and healthcare company with a wide sales network.

Turkey and Chile are countries with rapid growth in the cosmetic plastic surgery market, and the latest marketing approval will further strengthen Nabota’s position as a global brand, said Park Sung-soo, head of Daewoong Pharmaceutical`s Nabota business division.
