South Korea¡¯s JLK Inspection has formed partnership with Japan¡¯s largest teleradiolgy name Doctor Net to advance remote medical solutions through artificial intelligence (Ai) application.

Under the agreement, the South Korean startup, which is Korea¡¯s first Kosdaq-listed AI medical analysis firm, will provide AI-assisted telemedicine solutions to its Japanese partner and share its unique image-reading algorithm and technology know-how starting the first week of this month. Financial details were not disclosed.

As of 11:40 am on Tuesday, JLK shares lost a fraction to trade at 7,580 won ($6.35).

Doctor Net founded in Japan in 1995 has provided comprehensive diagnostic image reading services to health centers across the country with 1.2 million cases per year. JLK is specialized in medical image reading in lung disease, brain disease, and prostate cancer. The two are expected to cooperate in these areas.

JLK said its image reading algorithm has been refined through numerous examples to improve reading accuracy.

Market watchers expect the Japanese backing to push JLK global foray at a time for burgeoning demand for medical imaging reading services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
