Panagene, a Korean molecular diagnostic (MDx) assay developer, has received marketing approval of seven MDx tools as medical devices in Kazakhstan, a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the company announced Wednesday.

The company¡¯s newly approved products are four PNAClamp¢â platforms, which are real-time PCR based assays enabling selective amplification of mutant DNAs and three PANA RealTyper¢â kits for multiplex detection of infectious diseases.

The company said it will continue to file for approval of additional products in the Central Asian country.

Panagene hopes the latest approval in Kazakhstan can be a stronghold for Panagene`s molecular diagnostic products to enter CIS and EEU member states in the future. Overseas sales are expected to increase with growing bidding opportunities.

The Russia-led CIS, composed of former Soviet republics, has a total of 10 countries, including associate member Turkmenistan. The five-member EEU is considered as a hub that connects Central Asia and Europe.
