Hyundai Elevator Co., South Korea’s top manufacturer of elevators and escalators, will launch chatbot service to provide its customers with faster and easier repair and maintenance services, the company said Monday.
The artificial-intelligence-powered chatbot will receive repair service requests from customers through a smartphone app and handle various customer services. The service will include answering frequently-asked elevator maintenance related questions, receiving and processing repair service requests as well as updating customers about service status.
The company has been test-running the chatbot service for a month and plans to officially launch the service on June 25.
Separately, the elevator maker said it is adding technical specialists in line with the changes in the state’s elevator safety regulation. Last month, the Ministry of Interior and Safety announced that the safety code for elevators will be made stricter, requiring safety certification for a greater number of elevator parts.
