South Korea¡¯s two electronics giants LG Electronics Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. were picked as the best brands in the TV and smartphone sectors by British consumers last year, according to a renowned British consumer survey.
According to the survey by Which? magazine published by Britain¡¯s Consumers¡¯ Association, LG Electronics, the dominant leader in organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TVs, came first in the TV category of the Best in Tech 2018 with multiple choices for high-quality, affordable models.
Out of 170 products reviewed by Which?, OLEDs from LG, Panasonic and Sony generally scored well, the report said, adding that China¡¯s TCL, a newcomer to the UK, is the brand to watch in 2019.

Samsung Electronics that produces the world¡¯s largest number of smartphones topped in the two categories of tablet and smartphone, beating its archrival name Apple. Samsung¡¯s tablets scored high thanks to its budget models that had no formidable rivals amid a lack of new releases. Samsung smartphones also beat Apple¡¯s on their price appeal, according to the survey.
In the laptop segment, Dell was selected as the brand of last year, and LG the brand to watch this year. Polk Audio topped the wireless and Bluetooth speakers category, with Samsung chosen as this year¡¯s rising star.
In a separate ranking, Samsung Electronics came first as the top tech brand of 2018 out of 12 electronics giants by 41 percent of the respondents.
