Three imported carmakers Honda Motor Co., Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and Ford Motor Co. and machinery maker Doosan Infracore Co. have issued a voluntary recall of 27,776 vehicles and construction equipments in South Korea to fix respective defects, the transport ministry said Thursday.

Honda Motor will recall 14,220 Accord sedans to replace defective rear-view mirror control switch that can be automatically folded when the switch is on, thus blocking driver¡¯s vision.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will recall 2,792 Jeep Grand Cherokee sport utility vehicles to inspect and replace a cover that shields a brake booster from water. It has recalled the affected model since July 29, 2014 for the faulty part and discovered some of the vehicles may have the component incorrectly installed during the previous safety recall, which could result in corrosion and hinder braking ability.

Ford Motor has issued a recall of 2,570 vehicles in 2 models, including Lincoln MKZ to fix seatbelt pretensioner system. The pretensioning system, which is intended to adequately restrain the passenger¡¯s body in the event of a crash, has cables that may separate due to friction and could lead to increased injuries in an accident.

Doosan Infracore, a machinery making unit of South Korean conglomerate Doosan Group, will recall a total of 8,214 construction equipments - 7,984 excavators in 24 models and 230 loaders in 11 models - to repair fuel filter that can be overheated from water leak and go completely dysfunctional.

The three imported carmakers will start repairs from December 8 and Doosan Infracore from December 7.

Owners can visit the online recall site run by the transport ministry (www.car.go.kr) or call 080-357-2500 to check if their vehicles/equipments are part of the recall or to find out more about the defects.
