Traditional markets in South Korea are now able to sell products via Baedal Minjok (Baemin), a food delivery platform operated by Woowa Brothers Corp.

Woowa Brothers announced Tuesday that it is providing a traditional market service on its open market platform Baemin Store.

The service allows users to order products from traditional market stores using the app, for delivery within two hours.

Two markets are currently participating in the service: Suyu Traditional Market in Gangbuk District, northern Seoul, and Yongsan Yongmun Traditional Market in Yongsan District, central Seoul.

App users can order products such as meat, fruits, and vegetables, from a total of 45 stores.

Woowa Brothers plans to expand the participating markets.

The company also plans to discover representative products from traditional markets and develop them into meal kits, which will be sold in the first half of this year.

¡°We will continue to help small businesses to grow in line with the changing retail market environment,¡± said an official from Woowa Brothers.
