KT Corp. said on Wednesday that it developed a smartphone app control platform for the South Korean mobile carrier’s business customers.

The platform, certified by Google, segregates Android smartphones for company employees who use KT’s 5G mobile communication service for both work and personal use.

Users can only use the company’s dedicated 5G service work in the platform’s work area, restricting the installation of unauthorized software and enabling centralized deletion of applications. With this approach, KT aims to prevent the influx of unknown traffic or data leakage caused by malicious software within the company’s internal network, thus safeguarding information technology (IT) systems.

“With the development of this smartphone business app control platform, we expect to satisfy business customers who seek to enhance productivity and strengthen security,”, KT Network Research Institute head Lee Jong-sik said.
