À̹ÌÁö È®´ë Samsung SDS has developed a blockchain-based electronic authentication platform that could replace Active X thanks to greater security and easier-to-use design. The company aims to take leadership in blockchain-based authentication markets around the world while increasing its footprint in electronic authentication and e-government businesses in Southeast Asia.
According to sources on Tuesday, Samsung SDS is due to unveil a next-generation electronic authentication platform based on blockchain technology. The platform dubbed Rezoome developed by the company¡¯s internal venture can simplify the complex procedure to involve Active X and other software for authentication to just a few clicks.
Shares of Samsung SDS ended Wednesday at 264,000 won ($246.73), up 4.35 percent from the previous session.
A company official of Samsung SDS said Rezoome was designed based on the company¡¯s own blockchain net NexLedger and it will reduce the time needed to issue a certificate to one-fifth the previous time with greater security.
À̹ÌÁö È®´ë Samsung SDS wants to provide Rezoome services to issue various certificates for education, work and school records and gradually expand them to include all electronic documents covering finance and public service areas. Samsung SDS successfully built an internal electronic authentication platform late last year and plans to apply for a patent in April.
Samsung SDS is now in talks with Samsung Electronics and its affiliated companies and the academia to distribute the new authentication system, and plans to launch a commercial service to some partner organizations sometime next month.
It represents the country¡¯s first blockchain-based electronic authentication service released after the government decided to introduce an alternative to Active X early this year.
