Samsung Electronics said on Sunday its quantum dot light-emitting diode (QLED) TV has received verification from world-class testing and certification association, Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), for its ability to produce 100 percent color volume, or seamless high- quality picture.

VDE founded in 1893 is one of Europe`s largest technical-scientific associations that oversee standardization and product testing.

Color volume, a standard of color expression, measures two elements of the TV with three-dimensional space - the color gamut and the brightness level. The color gamut looks at the largest amount of colors that can be displayed physically. The peak brightness represents the display’s maximum brightness level. Expanded color volume results in more realistic, accurate and vibrant images, delivering the true HDR picture quality the director or content producer intended, according to the company.

The QLED TV 2018 edition is also equipped with artificial intelligence 4K Q-Engine, which is capable of compensating for shortcomings in video images by analyzing source materials and reducing picture noise.

The verification awarded to Samsung’s QLED TV marks the second year in a row that Samsung TV sets have been certified for 100 percent color volume.

Samsung Electronics released 11 QLED TV models in the first half and aims to add six more in the second half.
