16th World Korean Business Convention to kick off on Oct. 25 in Changwon

The 16th World Korean Business Convention, the biggest networking event for Korean businesses, will be held from Oct. 25 to 27 at Changwon Exhibition Convention Center in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.

Under the slogan ¡°better Hansang (Korean business) for better Korea,¡± the convention aims to build stronger ties among Korean enterprises, exchange ideas for job creation and offer practical business programs. The event is expected to be attended by about 3,500 participants, including 2,500 from home and 1,000 from abroad.

The business networking seminars would consist of four sessions - Finance, Industry 4.0, Case Study and Far East Investment.

Jo Seong-jin, chief executive of LG Electronics Inc., and Rim Ji-hoon, chief executive of Kakao Corp., will attend as speakers at the Hansang Leadership Conference held on the 26th.

A high school graduate, Jo defied the rules of the game when he ascended through the ranks, beating out executives from elite universities, to become the sole CEO of the global tech giant.

Rim, head of Korea¡¯s leading mobile messenger app, will deliver a speech titled ¡°New Connectivity, Better World¡± to share his insights on how to adjust to the new interconnected era.

On the last day of the event, former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will give a speech on ¡°Global Era and the Business Convention.¡±
