Import Goods Fair 2017 opens in Seoul on June 22 through 24

South Korea is holding the Import Goods Fair 2017 from June 22 to 24 at the COEX convention center in southern Seoul. The annual fair has served as debuting and lucrative marketing means for foreign companies to promote their brands in the country.

Korean importers and foreign companies from nearly 50 countries across the world have opened booths at the Import Goods Fair 2017 to showcase products that they just started selling or plan to market in Korea. Korea Importers Association is hosting the trade event.

U.S houseware brand Core Home known for using eco-friendly materials showcased its products at the Import Goods Fair 2017 prior to its retail debut in Korea. It will soon sell its kitchenware through Emart Traders, discount store chain of Korea¡¯s leading retailer Shinsegae.

Japan¡¯s Yutaka Make Co. is exhibiting breathable nasal filter for Koreans conscious of air pollution problems like fine dust as well as a machine that keeps unwanted animals like stray cats and rats out.

America¡¯s blockbuster hangover recovery drink Hangover Joe¡¯s also opened a booth at the Import Goods Fair 2017. Cure Korea, sole distributor of Hangover Joe¡¯s in Korea, China, and Japan is selling the American hangover recovery drink through some offline shops, but plans to expand out to online shopping malls soon.

Yogun Fruz, Canadian confectionery company known for its frozen yogurt currently is in discussion with Korean food distributor Mevius Corp. over introducing its candy bars in Korea. Golden Nest, another Canadian food company best known for its beef jerky, is also mulling entering Korea through Mevius.
