Seoul goes on largest-ever sale with hotels offering 60% discounts

Taking the momentum of eased tensions with China over the deployment of a powerful U.S. missile shield, South Korean hospitality and shopping industry Tuesday has kicked off two-month-long bargain sales across the Seoul with hotels offering 60 percent to 80 percent discounted room prices.

The 2017 Seoul Summer Sale sponsored by the central and city government will be held from May 23 until July 31 and include 133 names. The annual summer sales have been stretched and broadened to entice tourists during the vacation season.

Moreover, 18 high-end hotels including Grand Hilton Hotel, Grand Walkerhill Seoul, and Conrad Seoul will join the bargain sales program.

Tickets to amusement parks, aquariums, and music & dance performances would be shaved upon a show of passports, and medical services such as facial treatment and cosmetics surgery will be offered at special rates. All the big retail names including department stores and duty-free shops will be on a sale.
