South Korea¡¯s new President Moon Jae-in will travel to Washington late June for his first summit with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, said Yoon Young-chan, senior presidential secretary on Tuesday.

The decision was made during a meeting with a visiting delegation led by Matt Pottinger, senior director for East Asia at the National Security Council (NSC) sent to represent Washington after Moon was inaugurated last Wednesday.

The exact date and agenda will be decided through further discussions, Yoon said.

It would be Korea¡¯s first summit meeting with Trump who took office in January amid vacuum in leadership in Seoul following impeachment motion on former president Park Geun-hye.
