Naver announced on Thursday that it revamped its ¡®Knowledge iN¡¯ service, which celebrates its 22nd anniversary in 2024.

Specifically, the function to close questions has been removed and the limit on how many answers can be adopted was also lifted. Previously, when a user asked a question, other users could leave answers before the question closed. The user who asked the question could then adopt only one answer, even if multiple answers were provided before closing. Users also could not leave additional answers once a question closed or an answer was adopted, and thus had to communicate through comments. But they can continue to post answers without closing the question and new answers can be posted moving forward even if an answer has already been adopted moving forward.

The limits on additional questions and answers were also removed. Previously, users could ask up to two additional questions and provide up to two additional answers, but those asking the questions can now ask as many additional questions as they want and those and those answering them can freely add additional information to their answers.

Additionally, general users who have previously referred to Knowledge iN answers through searches can now participate in the question-and-answer process through a newly introduced voting feature. Anyone, regardless of whether they are asking the question or answering it, can express support for helpful, interesting, or empathetic answers they agree with or want to recommend. Answers that generate more support are listed at the top to widen exposure.

Naver emphasized that its plans reflect the demands from new users in their teens and twenties, who prioritize interest-based bidirectional communication while maintaining the core values of the Knowledge iN service.
