Hankook Tire, Korea’s largest and world’s seventh largest tire maker, said on Friday it will exclusively supply original equipment racing tires to British sports car manufacturer for 2018 Radical Asia Cup and 2018 Radical Korea & Lotus Cup events.

Radical has many SR1 single-marque race series, and the two for the ultimate driving experience will mark the first Asian tour to be held in Korea.

Hankook-equipped SR1 models will run in Korea and China for four months with eight rounds in the Radical Asia Cup and six rounds in the Radical Korea & Lotus Cup. The season is slated to premier on July 14 and August 25, respectively, on the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, Jeonnam Province.

The SR1 can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The models are optimized for racing and are designed to ensure easy driving for everyone, said a Hankook official, adding the company is committed to promoting motorsport markets with its racing tyre supply.

The Korean tire manufacturer has provided well-known races with various sizes for motorsport applications including the Ventus Race in the slick (F200) and rain version (Z207).
