South Korea’s LG Electronics on Thursday unveiled 37 new air conditioner models embedded with its artificial intelligence platform DeepThinQ at a launch event for “2018 LG Whisen Air Conditioner”.

LG Electronics said it has become the industry’s first to build a separate brand ThinQ, a fleet of AI-activated home appliances.

The AI platform makes it possible for the new products to read temperature, humidity, air quality and living environment and learn user’s usage patterns and languages for optimal settings.

Premium models loaded with voice recognition system in particular can control its settings like temperature, wind flow and volume, and dehumidifying and air purifying modes through voice demand within three meters.

In addition, users’ natural verbal response can be recognized as a command to control settings. Various regional dialects can also be processed, and language patterns can be learned for more accurate recognition, the company said.

LG Electronics plans to apply its AI-based operation feature dubbed AI Smart Care to all new floor standing air conditioners that will be launched this year.
