South Korea¡¯s telecom giant KT Corp. has developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based operations intelligence platform that helps analyze data and prevent network failures with an aim to set up an AI network control center by 2020.

According to KT, its operations intelligence platform Neuroflow helps decision-making procedure in network operations by analyzing massive data collected from wire and wireless network management systems on an open source basis and through repeated deep learning.

An unnamed official from KT said that AI technology has been applied to a long-term evolution (LTE) failure prediction system, but this is the first time in the world that AI technology is incorporated in a platform that analyzes full network data including online and offline and Internet of Things (IoT) data.

KT plans to intellectualize its network operations stage by stage based on Neuroflow to analyze fundamental causes of network failures, predict failures, and plan networks.

KT also plans to set up an AI network control center that will further upgrade network management services by 2020.
