South Korea’s building and industrial materials giant KCC Corp. said Thursday it has completed the construction of its new manufacturing line for vehicle coatings in Chongqing, southwest China.

The Chongqing plant is the company’s fourth production post in China commanding a space of 75,000 square meters with 19 buildings for production, utility and restaurant.

Various coating materials for vehicles, electronics, ships and other industrial concrete will be produced at the plant, according to the company.

KCC hopes the new plant will set the grounds for its inroads into inland China and help raise its footprint in China. Chongqing is home to many vehicle and electronics makers from all over the world.

The Chongqing factory applied a computerized manufacturing system for stable high-quality production and an automatic control system to optimize the temperature and humidity.

"The Chongqing post will become our core production base that mainly serves auto-making clients including Beijing Hyundai Motor and Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motor, and we`ll add more green products to expand our business in China," said a KCC official.
