German kitchen brand Nolte opened its first store in Seoul on Thursday after signing a contract with leading South Korean furniture maker Hanssem Nexus Co. last year to sell its products in the Korean market.

Founded in 1958, Nolte is Germany¡¯s second largest kitchen brand with a capacity of producing more than 800 sets of kitchen furniture per month.

Hanssem Nexus will operate the country¡¯s first Nolte store in Nonhyun-dong, southern Seoul where many upscale furniture stores are concentrated. The store sells eight lineups of Nolte kitchens including Ferro, Integra, Soft lack, Flair and Legno. Before the official opening of the store, Hanssem Nexus supplied Nolte products to some high-end houses and resorts in Pyeongchang-dong in Seoul, Sokcho and Yangyang in Gangwon Province.

Every year, Nolte showcases about 50 lines of its products at Germany¡¯s in-house trade fair Hausmesse held every September. The brand has been certified by Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) for its efforts to preserve forest, and received top grade Golden M from a German furniture quality assurance agency.
