Dayou Winia Co., a South Korean home appliance maker, has released its first washing machines branded as Winia Clean Washer, making its first entry into the washers market.

The company announced Thursday that it has launched four types of washers - 3kg/12kg front loading washers and 3.5kg/15kg top-loading washers. The 3kg front loader available at 494,000 won ($460) is equipped with inverter direct drive (DD) motor that reduces noise and vibration and saves energy, according to an official from the company. It is also offering 10-year warranty on the product.

Dayou Winia, formerly Winia Mando, is well known for its Kimchi refrigerator brand Dimchae that was developed by Mando Machinery Co., its predecessor. It was renamed Dayou Winia in 2014 when it was integrated into Dayou Group. Last year, it moved its fridge manufacturing facility from Asan, South Chungcheong Province, to Gwangju, South Jeolla Province.

Shares of Kosdaq-listed Dayou Winia closed Thursday at 2,750 won, up 0.73 percent from the previous session.
