LG Electronics¡¯ steam clothing care system LG Styler won recognition from a leading U.S. asthma and allergy organization for its function in reducing substances that cause asthma and other allergies, the Korean tech giant said.

LG Electronics said its clothing care system LG Styler has earned an asthma and allergy friendly certification from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) in recognition of its ability to reduce dust mite, bacterial and fungal viability. It is the second time for the company to obtain the same certification from AAFA for its product since 2008.

LG Styler has successfully demonstrated its ability to reduce allergens and irritants - dust mites, bacteria and fungus - in clothing by more than 99 percent, the AAFA explained. People can sanitize fabrics and items every day with the product, which can efficiently neutralize unpleasant odors and reduce allergens with steam produced by natural water, not chemicals, the company claimed.

LG Electronics has recently launched a new LG Styler model with an upgraded capacity to expand the brand lineup amid increasing demand for the clothing care system at home and abroad. Samsung Electronics is reportedly seeking to launch a similar clothing care system to dive into the burgeoning clothing care system market.
