Samsung Electronics Co.¡¯s latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus topped the list of consumer reviews in six European countries.
According to industry sources on Tuesday, the new phone from the South Korean tech giant occupied the top spots on the magazines of six European consumer groups, including France¡¯s Que Choisir, Italy¡¯s Altroconsumo, Spain¡¯s OCU, Portugal¡¯s Deco Proteste, Belgium¡¯s Test Aankoop and Sweden¡¯s Rad & Ron.
The magazines all touted Galaxy S9¡¯s high-definition display and improved camera capabilities along with its long battery life. But its high price tag was considered a major drawback. A Galaxy S9 of 64GB capacity is priced at around $900.
France¡¯s Que Choisir praised Galaxy S9¡¯s powerful new camera that takes pictures even in low light and records in super slow-motion mode.

Belgium¡¯s Test Aankoop noted how the phone¡¯s high resolution of 2960x1440 enhances the web browsing and typing experience. It also highlighted its long-life batteries, which can last up to 23 hours.
Portugal¡¯s Deco Proteste went so far as to claim the Galaxy S9 was the highest-performing phone model out there but said many might be put off by its high price.
Samsung products swept the French and Swedish charts, with the Galaxy S8 and S9 series and the Note 8 claiming the top five spots. In Italy, Spain and Portugal, Galaxy S8 came third, followed by Apple¡¯s iPhone8.
Despite the published ravings, sales have been lackluster with consumers complaining of the lack of eye-catching features that differentiate the phone from its predecessor.
