South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. said on Wednesday that its tumble dryer was picked as the top large home appliance of the year by a British home electronics and information technology products researcher.

According to the company, its DV90M5000IW tumble dryer won the best large home appliance award by receiving a full score. Trusted Reviews - which presents awards to innovative home appliance and IT products every year in 30 different categories - said that Samsung Electronics’ dryer ¡°combines great features with excellent drying results - and the lowest running costs we’ve ever seen.¡±

In particular, Trusted Reviews highlighted features such as the tumble dryer’s 9 kilogram load capacity, air wash program that freshens up cycle for dry clothes, dual filter that helps remove lint from clothes, over-drying prevention alert system, and quiet running performance.

An unnamed official from Samsung Electronics said that its model was highly evaluated for leading-edge energy efficient technology and drying performance in Europe where dryers are commonly used in daily lives. The Korean tech giant plans to continue to lead the dryer market by introducing innovative technology for consumers, the official added.
