Samsung launches Bixby-enabled tablet in Korean market

Samsung Electronics launched its tablet, the Galaxy Tab A, in its home Korean market on Thursday with its self-developed artificial intelligence-enabled home screen control (Bixby Home) and date reminder functions (Bixby Reminder).

It has a 203.1 mm display with 8.9 mm in thickness and about 360 grams in weight, sporting an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front with an F1.9 aperture lens for sharp and bright photos.

The new gadget also features a floating camera button which can be moved freely on the screen and a home mode function that can show time, calendar and weather information even during battery charging, according to the company. Other functions include Smart View that simplifies displaying the tablet¡¯s screen on a TV and Game Launcher designed to improve mobile gaming.

The LTE version Galaxy Tab A is now available via all three mobile carriers in Korea for 308,000 won ($279), and the Wi-Fi version is due on Nov. 24 for 264,000 won.
