Hyundai Wia debuts smart tools at EMO Hannover tradeshow

Hyundai Wia Corp., an auto parts making unit of South Korea¡¯s auto conglomerate Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled ¡®X Series,¡¯ new brand of advanced machine tools meeting European standards at the world¡¯s largest machine tools tradeshow EMO 2017 Hannover held in Germany this week.

The company is showcasing a total of 13 machine tools and smart factory system including three X Series products at the EMO 2017 Hannover where nearly 2,500 companies and 150,000 visitors from the world would gather to check out the latest technology in machine tools industry for six days until September 23.

Hyundai Wia¡¯s three X Series machine tool models - XF2000, XF6300, and XH63000 that are exhibited at the show had been developed at the firm¡¯s research and development center in Frankfurt, Germany to meet the growing demand for advanced tools.

The XH63000, which made its debut in the Europe this week, is a large-scale, high-speed horizontal machining center that is capable of producing engine parts for aircrafts and automobiles. It offers the fastest motion control rate among its kind that it can sharply cut overall production time, the company claimed.

The XF2000 is high-performance machining center that is designed to perform high-precision fabrication when making small-sized products like home appliance. The company said it was able to minimize the vibration and heat by building in the motor within the central part of the machine.

The company also set up a special booth for smart factory system where visitors can experience latest production management technology of controlling factory lines from remote places.

Shares of Hyundai Wia closed Tuesday at 63,000 won ($55.70), up 2.11 percent from the previous session.
