The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) suspended e-trading of South Korea¡¯s Hana Financial Investment Co. for 60 days from Tuesday, punishing the bank for incompliance with its rules on disclosure of customer information.

Hana Financial Investment said Tuesday alerted home trading and mobile traders that new orders for futures products at the CME would be prohibited and any changes to existing positions must be made by phone.

The company said the U.S. commodity exchange barred it from trading 60 days for withholding some customer information. But under Korean laws, it can give out information only upon customer consent.

Hana Financial said it was negotiating with the CME and offered to fully compensate for any damages to its customers from the suspension on e-trading.
