Samsung SDS Co., IT subsidiary of South Korea¡¯s largest conglomerate Samsung Group, introduced business-oriented personal assistant ¡®Brity¡¯ that can be activated by voice commands on Tuesday.

According to the company, Brity is an artificial intelligence platform that is capable of communicating with its users in natural languages and can perform task on voice commands. It is designed specifically for business use unlike other existing artificial intelligence voice assistants such as its sister Samsung Electronics Co.¡¯s Bixby.

Brity, fitted with the natural language processing system developed internally, understands complex sentences as well as intention of questions to provide right answers, the company claimed. For example, when it is asked ¡°When will I receive the refrigerator that I ordered yesterday?,¡± Brity analyzes the sentence by breaking it into an information part of ¡®refrigerator ordered yesterday,¡¯ and a question ¡®when will the refrigerator be delivered?¡¯ and provides an answer accordingly, according to the company.

Moreover, if the user makes a sudden change in topic, the digital assistant processes the new order then returns back to the previous topic.

Brity supports both texted and spoken languages so that it can be applied to all types of electronic devices like computers and smartphones as well as mobile messaging apps, the company said.

Samsung SDS said it has completed the test of Brity internally across Samsung Group companies prior to its official launch.

Share of Samsung SDS finished Tuesday at 161,000 won ($142.34), down 500 won or 0.31 percent from the previous session.
