South Korea’s telecommunications equipment maker Dasan Networks Inc. this month will release luxury phones of Italy-based Tonino Lamborghini Style and Accessories that are estimated to cost nearly $3,000 apiece in the Korean market and elsewhere.
According to industry sources on Sunday, Dasan Networks in July last year secured an exclusive right to market Tonino Lamborghini’s mobile devices across the world through its affiliate Korasia. Under the deal, the company develops and manufactures high-end smartphone dubbed as Lamborghini mobile lineup. Korasia will be marketing the phones.
The phone with a price tag nearly doubling that of an Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phone will be primarily targeting super-rich in Russia and Middle Eastern countries, the company said.
The details of the new smartphone are unknown but industry watchers expect the smartphone will adopt Tonino Lamborghini’s symbolic bold and metallic appearance.
Tonino Lamborghini Style and Accessories was founded in 1981 by Tonino Lamborghini, son of Italian supercar maker Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.’s founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. It offers luxury fashion items like watches and sunglasses as well as specially designed smartphones for exclusive clients.
