South Korea’s top parcel delivery service company CJ Logistics Corp. has teamed up with a Vietnamese budget carrier to cooperate in air freight business.

The Korean company said on Monday it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam’s low-cost carrier Vietjet Air, allowing it to jointly run the carrier`s freight business between Vietnam and the United States via Korea. The two companies also plan to expand their cooperation to the operation of airport terminal in Vietnam and cargo aircrafts.

Under the partnership, CJ Logistics aims to spur the growth of its logistics business in the Southeast Asian country and generate more revenue.

Vietjet Air is the largest low-cost carrier in Vietnam that flies to 82 destinations with 385 daily flights every day - 44 to foreign cities and 38 at home. CJ Logistics is Korea’s largest parcel delivery firm that engages in a wide range of logistics business such as contract logistics, marine transport, parcel delivery and international express. It has expanded its foothold across 238 cities in 32 countries.
